Reliance Jio has announced a series of AI-driven upgrades coming soon to the JioHotstar app. These include a new voice assistant, real-time dubbing technology, immersive cricket experiences, and innovative viewing controls.
Riya: The AI Voice Assistant
Akash Ambani, Chairman of Jio, introduced Riya, a voice-enabled search assistant designed to make content discovery effortless.
“Finding what to watch from thousands of hours of content can feel overwhelming. That’s why we have built Riya,” Ambani said. “Riya is built for the way you think and speak, whether it’s key moments from your favorite shows.”
Riya can understand natural language inputs and fetch results across seasons, episodes, and years, simplifying navigation for users.
Voice Print: Real-Time Dubbing with AI
Another major feature is Voice Print, a real-time dubbing service powered by AI voice cloning and lip-sync technology. This feature allows users to enjoy their favorite shows and movies in their local language — but with the original actor’s voice and expressions.
“With the power of AI voice cloning and lip-sync technology, your favorite stars will not just get dubbed — they will speak in your language, in their own voice, with perfect lip-sync,” Ambani explained.
JioLenZ: Multiple Viewing Angles
The new JioLenZ feature gives viewers control over how they watch content by offering multiple viewing angles. Depending on the device screen, users can switch perspectives for a more personalized viewing experience.
MaxView 3.0: An Immersive Cricket Mode
Cricket fans will benefit from MaxView 3.0, a feature designed to enhance live matches. It provides real-time scorecards, instant highlights, multiple camera angles, and language options.
“This cricket viewing experience has been designed around the way you naturally hold your phone, making it more immersive, more intuitive, and closer to the action than ever before,” Ambani said.
Launch Timeline Still Unknown
While these innovations promise to transform the JioHotstar experience, Reliance has not yet announced when the features will officially roll out. No details are currently available on the RIL or Jio website.
